Hello and welcome to our new website- we hope that you enjoy it! This is written by two kids who are at high school, so you children should be able to understand this website better than if it were written by adults.

Parents and teachers sometimes find it difficult to choose books which kids of any age group will enjoy, so we provide a kid's perspective. In this way it helps out everyone!

You can post your own review or read other reviews posted by other people, therefore finding new books and new authors that you had never heard of before!

 WE WANT YOUR BOOK REVIEWS!

We want to hear what you think of any books you have read, so please write your own review and send it to us at advertisingstuff@googlemail.com and you can also use this email address to send us any questions and comments. We advise you to NEVER give out personal details, such as your second name, birth date, etc... You may post your email address in your book review if you like, so that people who have the same interests as you can email you, but it is not recommended.

If you want to edit your review after it has been published, then email us with your new review so that we can replace it. Sometimes, if a sentence does not make sense in your review, then we will change it very slightly, and alert you of this. None of the summary of the story will be altered, don't worry! If you do one book in a series, or the whole series, then please write this in your review. (If you do not, then we shall add it in for you.)

Also, you can submit as many reviews as you like. Banners for your website saying how many books you have reviewed may come soon, due to popularity on the subject. Remember to include a star and difficulty rating! (As shown at the bottom of the page.) We shall automatically post a picture of the book that you have reviewed on the review, unless you have a specific picture of the book- if you want a particular picture of the book to be put on the page, then please send that picture with your book review. We should publish your review within a weeks time after you email it to us. If we do not publish it in that time, then please email us again to ask why. We may not have received your review! If we are on holiday, or very busy, and we have no time for publishing, then we shall write it on the homepage in the notices section, so always check back!

WE WANT YOUR POEMS!

Yes, it's finally arrived! Now you can submit your own poems to our website as well as book reviews. Enjoy! Remember, poetry doesn't have to rhyme or have a beat. Just have some fun coming up with your own! We hope to see some different types of poetry, from acrostic poems to couplets!

The same rules apply to the poems as they do to the book reviews: submit the poems to the same email address, submit a picture if you like, or we shall put one on for you... Except, of course, no star and difficulty ratings because it will be YOUR poems. Please do not copy from another poet because we WILL find out.

NOTICES!

The Childrens Library is soon going to become the Childrens Literacy Base! This means that you will be able to post your poems, stories and compositions- or anything else to do with literature on our site. The Childrens Library team are currently sorting out this, but details are top secret! We can tell you though, that the web site address WILL NOT CHANGE. We hope that you enjoy the Literacy base as soon as it comes out! The Poetry section is currently being created, and it shall probably be finished by the time you read this!

Did you know that 2008 was the year of reading...? Well, it is, so start your reading adventure by creating a schedule for yourself, and writing down which books you want to read, so that you'll never be stuck for what to read next! (Thursday 6th February is World Book Day.) Here are some award winning and popular books to get you started:

'Noughts and Crosses' by Malory Blackman-

Though not suitable for children under 10, this book is loved by nearly everyone who has ever read it. It tells the story in a world like modern day Britain, except that the Crosses- the black people- rule, and treat the white people- the noughts- as inferiors. Sephy is a cross, Callum is a nought; can they somehow find a way to be together, being as determined as they are to try? But then the bomb goes off...

'Chinese Cinderella' by Adeline Yen Mah

An amazing story of love, hate and discrimination. Adeline tells the true story of her childhood in this well loved book, which captures you from the moment you start reading it. All ages will enjoy this book, though young children may not be able to understand it. As Adeline is shunned and left alone by her father and tormented by her step mother and big sister, it leaves you crying, and not believing that this is a real life tale. A must read for anyone- it isn't just for girls!

'Danny, the Champion of The World' by Roald Dahl-

Yet another masterpiece from the best-selling author, Roald Dahl. Danny's mother died when he was very young, but his father is the most amazing father you would ever have. His father's great mind is full of marvellous things, but even such good people have their dark secrets. Suddenly, Danny is plunged head first into a new world of breaking the law, in a thrilling sport. But can he and his father pull of the most daring stunt yet...?

Hopefully, you shall have a chance to find and read all these books, and celebrate this year- keep reading!

Scream and run away... or not. 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' is this week's book of the week! Though very hard to read for most, children over the age of 10 years will appreciate and love this book. But be warned- it is not for people who are scared easily! Thanks to Amber who submitted the review! Go to the review here. Have a great day!
